LRSC – Lethbridge Regional Safety Committee

Go to the Lethbridge Regional Safety Committee Home Page

The Lethbridge Regional Safety Committee has a membership from many different industries in the area including;  commercial, industrial, oilfield, road building, home builders, first aid providers and safety trainers, many sub-trades and the WCB. Our focus is to promote health & safety and educate people on the positive aspects of working safely in their work environment. This translates to thinking about safety before we act, adopt the necessary controls, applying them in all areas of our lives.

The LRSC is an active group of safety professionals who promote the ACSA, local companies and the community. The Lethbridge has a number of outstanding companies that place safety as a priority and it is encouraging to see them work so hard to ensure that the work they do is safe for their workers. The ACSA provides awards for these efforts, whether it is a new company or one that has been in business for many years. The regional committee nominates these individuals and organizations for annual awards such as "Trailblazer" and "Pacesetter," which recognizes commitment to safety, promoting it and serving the community.

We also provide assistance through the trades program at the Lethbridge College. We work with High Schools and local agencies in promoting the use of CSTS and help the foreign workers adapt to life and work skills in our communities. The CSTS program grows every year, we are currently up to approximately 15 kids. After completing the course, they receive a new pair of work boots! This year, U.F.A. was the provider of the kids boots, they are incredible to work with and we hope to continue this relationship.

Each year we are strong supporters of NAOSH week, Day of Mourning and the Steps for Life Walk. If you would like to participate with the LRSC please contact any of our members and remember "Make Safety A Way of Life".
