The Voice of the Construction Industry in Southwestern Alberta
LCA is your business’ voice within the Construction Industry through collective advocacy and effective representation. An LCA Membership grants automatic membership into the Alberta Construction Association (ACA) and the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), so that our members’ views and needs are represented at all three levels of government. Our focus is to work on behalf of our membership to lead initiatives that will grow our local industry.
BuildWorks Canada's Online Plansroom provides Industry access to nearly 4,000 Alberta-wide publicly tendered construction projects annually, including pre-bid, pre-qualification notices, and bid results. LCA Members have access to password protected bidders’ lists, and electronic access to plans, specifications, and addendum. BuildWorks Canada, the 8 Local Construction Associations, and the Alberta Construction Association are constantly working to engage and communicate with all construction stakeholders. Through this collaborative approach we strive to open lines of communication that will contribute to a better construction industry in Alberta.

CCA & CCDC Documents are developed through a consultative process with representatives from all sectors in the construction industry. These consensus-based documents carry the endorsement of the four constituent national organizations. A lawyer from the Canadian Bar Association, construction law section also sits as an ex-officio member of the committee.
Commissioner for Oaths in Alberta
Authorized LCA staff members with Commissioner of Oaths status (for construction documents) will sign documents such as statutory declarations and other documents free-of-charge for LCA members. Commissioner for Oaths services are available to non-members at $10.00/document.
Youth Employment Program & Scholarships
The LCA helps build your workforce by promoting construction apprenticeship programs and actively working with the construction industry and local youth, looking to build rewarding careers in the trades. The LCA awards annual scholarships to apprentices currently employed by member companies. Applications are accepted October 1st – January 31st and awarded late spring of each year.
